Born and raised in New Orleans, I headed to the Frozen North to study magazine journalism at the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. Saw a lot of lake effect snow. Got it. After college I worked as a magazine editor in metro Atlanta for many years. Came back home in 2000, renovated a family home, went through Katrina, went through the recovery. Got married for the first (and only, God willing!) time at the age of 58 — to my old high school boyfriend, just weeks after the Saints won the Super Bowl in 2010. (Two things nobody thought would ever happen.) We share our home with four cats and a dog. The New Normal is my first novel.
